Babies have the softest, and clearest skin. There is not a visible pore or wrinkle on their face. Me? Not so much! I have large pores, used to struggle so much with acne, and I am starting to get wrinkles. As I have noticed my face aging, I’ve begun adding in different anti-aging products to combat my issues. Let me share with you a few of my beauty secrets!
Adult Acne – the secret everyone wishes wasn’t a thing
I have had really bad acne since I hit about 14. My skin flared up and I struggled with it all through to my mid 20s. Mine is due to hormonal issues from PCOS, though, I didn’t know it at the time.
What did I do to finally overcome it?
Rodan and fields unblemished regimen. I didn’t think anything would help me and my skin was bad. So bad that I still have scars from it. But, then my sister in law started selling it and I decided to give it a go.
“I wish someone had told me when I first got acne that Rodan and Fields worked and would keep my skin clear!”
I got a month starter kit and applied it night and day. It took months. I did notice slight differences but for my skin to completely clear up, it was not overnight. I was dedicated though, and the first regimen lasted me about 7 months. By that time, thankfully, I saw major improvements. Over the next two years, I stuck to it and not only cleared up my skin but kept it clear.

Anti Aging and Continued Clear Skin
I have since switched to the Ordinary as my go-to regimen to keep my skin clear and try to prevent wrinkles. I use the Niacinamide Zinc, Salicylic Acid, matrixyl, and azelaic acid. I used rosehip seed oil until it ran out and just never refilled it. I loved it though. It is a great moisturizer and I didn’t break out from it. I also had one of their retinal. I would do one day of the anti-aging regimen and then one day of the anti-acne. You are supposed to use the matrixyl or retinal the same say as the two acids. So be sure to read through that info if you decide to go with the Ordinary.
I love how clear it keeps my skin, and how cost effective it is. Definitely recommend it. I need to be more dedicated with applying it for anti aging stuff to really speak on that end of it. I also recently added in Paula Choice’s Salicylic Acid as an overnight peel. I like it a lot but I don’t know if it is more or less effective than the Ordinary brand.
Eye Creams and More
To finish off my skincare routine, I have added a moisturizing anti-wrinkle lotion from ROC. I find it smells a lot like sunscreen, but that is probably due to the fact it is 30 SPF. It makes me feel good putting it on because I know that even if I forget to put sunscreen anywhere else my face will be protected from the sun. Nothing ages you like the sun, so when considering anti-aging stuff it is important to remember that.
For eye cream, I use the Senegence eye cream. I am looking to find a better one though because I’ve noticed no difference since using it. I do absolutely love a sample I got of Caudalíe Resveratrol [Lift] eye lifting balm. The photo I just took don’t show a huge difference, but one night I woke up and my under eyes were very puffy. I applied the balm and within minutes the puffiness was reduced. I love this stuff!
There you have it. That is my current ever evolving skin care routine. I would love to hear what works for you and what you recommend for an eye cream. Let me know if you have any other tips for me! See you next time!
